The Wainwright Papers are collated reports of operations and activities of commands and units of the Second World War in the Philippines prepared by commanding generals and their staff, and included as annexes into single "Report of Operations of USAFFE and USFIP in the Philippine Islands, 1941-1942" by Lt. Gen. Jonathan Wainwright, submitted to the War Department of U.S. as an official report of the Philippine campaign. The reports were prepared at the end of the war on orders from General Wainwright during their years in Japanese prison camps and under surveillance of Japanese guards. These were written from memory and personal notes at Fort Sam Houston, Texas in 1946 with little form, organized and prepared by differently. The Wainwright Papers comes in four volumes under a general heading of Historical Documents of the Second World War in the Philippines.
