This book is about forgotten heroes. A nation is poorer by so much everytime one of its heroes passes into oblivion. For as Tito Guingona, Jr. writes in one of these pages "the true treasures of the Filipino are not gold or silver." They are the men and women who heroic lives Guingona would bring back to us in this book. John F. Kennedy once did the same thing for his countrymen in his work "Profiles In Courage."
