The vital role that religion plays in Philippine culture is an established fact back-up by several international surveys. This fact which prestigious research bodies such as the Gallup Poll finds significant, appears not to create the same level of interest among Filipinos themselves. The dearth of literature in this area is in a way reflective of this.

Last 1994 we launched the Filipino Spiritual Culture Series in minibite forms (pamphlets). In no time the series were out of print. Out of the eleven pamphlets published, the following five titles seem to resonate with the reading public. We have therefore decided to put them all together in this one publication.

We would like to thank the Hon. Marietta Primicias-Goco of the Moral Recovery Program-Sambayanihan, whose support made this publication possible. Our grateful thanks to all those in one way or another supported this endeavor, most especially the anonymous donor who made the first minibites possible. Last but not the least, to all Mamamathala-Dios Mabalos. Dr. Teresita B. Obusan -Excerpts from the Introduction.
