A Journey Through Philippine Handwoven Textiles is a survey of the rich weaving traditions of the Philippines - from abel and the varied Cordillera weaves in the north; sinamay, pinukpok, abaca, pina, hablon of South Luzon and Central Visayas; to t'nalak and other fabrics of Mindanao. It is our hope that this introduction will encourage our people to better understand, appreciate and use the indigenous handwoven textiles of our archipelago.
"Trying to revive and continue a fast-fading craft is a solitary endeavor shared by a few passionate people. Sometimes this is not enough o stop the death of certain crafts as these are based on community bonding and self-expression, which in this fast-changing world have become almost non-existent. Habi is a wonderful effort to keep weaving crafts alive in the finds of people and inspire their continuation. Bravo!" - Patis Tesoro
