Crossroads of Civilizations (Out of Print)

The set of seven beautiful postcards was part of the exhibit which was curated by Florina H. Capistrano-Baker, Ph.D. She also wrote the book Philippine Ancestral Gold which accompanied the exhibit. Called Gold of Ancestors: Pre-colonial Treasures in the Philippines, the exhibit consisted of more than one thousand gold objects that celebrated the sophisticated cultures before its colonization in the 16th century. Adornments of elite individuals and their deities include a spectacular array of golden sashes, necklaces, pectorals, diadems, earrings and finger rings, bracelets and anklets. Here, the role of Archeology in reconstructing the past is illuminated, demonstrating how funerary offerings become valuable sources of information for subsequent generations of the living.
