This article shows the unique condition of Manila and the surrounding lesson in the second phase of the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine-American War from February 1898 until the establishment of the Civil Government on July 4, 1901. The discussion focuses on describing the general condition of Manila. especially the change in environment, society and order as three major events took place in the country: the continuation of the Philippine Revolution against Spain, the Spanish-American War and the Philippine-American War. Through a detailed description of the wars that took place around Manila, one can see and feel the unique history of the revolution focused on the daily conditions of the city and the lives of its citizens. Instead of focusing on the conflict, it pays attention to the event and changes in the environment and society, the actions and reactions of citizens to rumored attacks and fighting, and the adaptation of the entire city to continue the traditional way of life in the face of non- common situation. Therefore, in general, this work can be considered a social history of the city of Manila. The discussion is centered on people and society itself.
