A story of poor settlers who developed the rural town called Samba by farming the land. However, after so many years, Samba's land title was suddenly taken by Don Bartoldo Baclao. He threatened and burned the villagers' house to force them out of the town but the villagers were determined to stay. They were hoping that the government will assist them with the agrarian reform in place. If they succeed, their lives will become better especially for the next generation. Won Honorable Mention in the PBBY-Salanga Writer's Prize 1990.
