But there are some written by our friends and comrades from other universities, including UP-Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, Philippine Normal University, UP-Los Banos, Ateneo de Naga University, University of the East Caloocan, and Xavier University. I am also proud to mention that there are some stories in the book written by Filipino writers overseas. It is also worth pointing out that the youngest writer included here is a Grade 4 student at the University of East-Caloocan...Other themes/subjects--beside growing up--explored in these pieces are love, family death, poverty, war, sexuality, and terror. Most of the stories are realistic, but there are some clothes in other fictional modes, such as fantasy, science fiction, and magic realism. -From the Introduction
