About the Author
Father Diaz founded the Blessed Lorenzo Ruiz Association of America (BLRAA) in the United States to promote the canonization of now Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino Christian martyr. He organized the annual Filipino Mass in honor of San Lorenzo Ruiz in St. Patrick’s Cathedral from 1982 to 2008.Father Diaz is a member of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Association, Staten Island Chapter, which coordinates the nine days of Filipino Simbang Gabi masses held at St. Margaret Mary’s and other churches throughout Staten Island in anticipation of Christmas.
