Edith L. Tiempo holds the honor of being the first Elisabeth Luce Moore Distinguished Asian Professor. For over thirty years she has co-directed the National Writers Workshop and the Creative Writing Program at Silliman University with her husband, Edilberto K. Tiempo. She has published three poetry collection, critical essays, two short story collections, and four novels. She has also published textbooks, some of them in collaboration with her late husband. Edith Tiempo earned her academic degrees from Silliman University, the University of Iowa, and from the University of Denver.
