Pasyon or Pasion is a form of literature , a poetic composition, which essentially recounts the life and deeds of Jesus Christ in His Work of Redemption. Its use in the commemoration of the Lord's Passion, Death and Resurrection during the Lenten season is a tradition that has been kept alive for centuries in the Philippines. The term also refers to the musical settings in which these verses are chanted , as well as the act of chanting, itself. The Tagalog version makes a distinction between text and chants. The text is known as the Pasyon while the chant is called the Pabasa. The book talks of the literary genre of the Pasyon as folk Christian poetry, content analysis of the First Tagalog Pasyon and its contribution to the inculturation of Christianity in the Philippines. A Philippine import and now an out of print title with very limited availability.
