Filipina Eurogamy is an important work. Previously, because of the limited literature of migrant Filipina interracial marriages, different stereotypes and myths were perpetuated; as a result, Filipinas became a mystery to European Westerners, and/or someone to out down. The term "eurogamy" was coined by the author, Dr. Ronald E. Hall, a few years ago; specifically, "euro" is taken fro European and "gamy" from endogamy (marrying within the group) and exogamy (marrying outside teh group). Thus, "eurogamy" means selective outgroup marriage of non-Europeans to Europeans.

Dr. Hall also had devised the "Bleaching Syndrome" to explain discrimination among people of color, and Identity across the Lifespan as an alternative biracial identity model. His previous book was Beyond Black and White: Racism Among People of Color. He teaches at a Big Ten university.
