This is the story of Limahong , the boldest pirate of the Far East who lived during the latter half of the sixteenth century. With a price set on his head first by Emperor Lung Ching, thenby Emperor Wan Li, of China, for the high cremes he committed on the land later at sea aginst his people and the merchandst of Portugal, Japan and other Asian countries, he sailed away to the Philippines to establish a kingdom. Defeated by the Spanish forces and Filipino volunteers in Manila and beseieged in Pangasinan for over seven months, he finally escaped to his former island stronghold in the Pescadores -- and to an unknown death. This book is based on the available historical accounts about him by Portugese, Spanish, Filipino, American, Japanese and Chinese missionaries, travelers, authors and writers. While all books on Philippine history and others written about Limahong mention Pangasinan as the place where he settled after his defeat in Manila, it has been definitely establish by geographical facts that this settlement was made particularly in what is now the barrio of Domalandan and its surrounding areas in the town of Lingayen, about two hundred kilometers north of Manila.
