This is a Children’s Book by F. Sionil Jose. It contains four stories of love brought to life through plants, animals and inanimate objects ie. trees, orchids, insects, moonbeams and sunbeams.

The four stories are the following. Dalipawen is tragic and sad. The Molave and The Orchid is about fate. A boastful tree is tamed by a wise and free-spirited Orchid. The Moth and The Sunbeam is about old love and young love. One has become afraid and reluctant. The Fruits of Gaget is about a struggling painter whose works literally comes to fruition.

Aside from the anthropomorphic themes (big word huh?), the four stories root in love. The first is haunting and disturbing. The next two has a bent of drama and wisdom in them. The last is a relief, but not before a feeling of anger and contempt.
