Warsaw of Asia: The Rape of Manila is the result of six long years of research and interviews on the part of Jose Ma. Bonifacio Escoda y Minguez, better known as "Boni" among friends and colleagues. In fact, his masteral studies in Language and Literature at De La Salle University was relegated to a back burner while his obsessive research was taking place in his effort to bring out the real truth about the last month of the liberation of Manila. So, in this book are recorded the day-to-day events and gruesome pictures of what happened in the City of Manila, once known as the Pearl of the Orient, from 5 February to 5 March 1945. The author, who graduated from Adamson University with an A.B. in Psychology, now is a professor at his alma mater, where he teaches Spanish Literature, Spanish Grammar, History, Sociology, Philosophy and Psychology. He also contributes articles to the Manila Bulletin and the Philippine Daily Inquirer and used to write for Manila Mail (California) and Game Sports Magazine. His fluency in Spanish helped him gain rapport with the Spanish-speaking survivors he interviewed about the Manila holocaust.
