Walking Through Philippine Theater Volume II addresses the nature and functioning of the choreographic art in its public expression or exhibition. As artist and member of the audience himself, Villaruz takes on various modes of being within and outside a performance, taking on what he calls a hydra perspective. Often he places these modes in the larger dimension of society, in a public domain where he himself gets caught, in asking questions about how dance is ever endangered and yet bravely survives as an art in the Philippines.
