The cultural diversity of the Filipinos is highlighted by the number of languages and dialects spoken in the Philippines, from Batanes in the North to Jolo in the South. However, only eight of them are considered major ones. Five are spoken in Luzon, the major island, and three in the Visayas, a cluster of smaller islands in central Philippines.
