The papers in this volume present different facets of Manila's past and present. As the title says, these are studies of urban cultures and traditions. The papers deal with topics of broad spectrums, all relevant to the study of Manila and its environs: the urbanization of the city's districts; the architectural past; events during the wartime period; place traditions and people from different walks of life.
