This book presents cases on the biographies of 15 women engaged in a wide range of enterprises: manufacturing, trading, service,  and agri-business. The women represented originate from a cross-section of society - from the well-to-do families, the middle and lower-middle class and the poor and underprivileged poor. The women's entrepreneurial motivations vary. Some have gone into business out of necessity to supplement a meager family income or continue a husband's business. Others have put up their enterprises to unleash their creativity or simply do something worthwhile. A few report going into the business as a matter of course, asserting that entrepreneurship is "in their blood." All the case stories have a common knowledge: that women can be every bit as good and as successful as men in starting and managing productive, job-producing enterprises business enterprises.
