Her work has been translated into Finnish and Turkish; and her work has been widely anthologized. She has received a California Arts Council Fellowship in Fiction, a Brody Arts Fund, several travel grants from the USIS, and many other awards. Born and raised in Cebu, Philippines, she currently resides in California.
