About the Author

About the Natividad Macaranas was born in the Philippines, and was naturalized as a U.S. Citizen in 1986. She earned a Master of Arts from the University of the Philippines a Doctor of Education, with emphasis in psychology, from Stanford University. She taught psychology at Eastern New Mexico University for twenty-eight years. She was Professor of Psychology and Chairperson of the Psychology Department when she retired in May, 1993. Throughout her illustrious career as a professor, she published several articles in professional journals. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Association of University Women, and the Council of Professors Emeriti. She recently received a Distinguished Faculty Emeritus Award from Eastern New Mexico University.
