Ang aklat na ito na may pamagat na Ang Pilipinas Sa Bagong Kapanahunan ay ukol sa batang nasa ikatlong baitang. Katulad ng iba pang mga aklat sa sunuran, ito'y batay sa bagong palatuntunan sa pagtuturo ng araling panlipunan. Napapaloob dito ang karanasang lumilinang ng kakayahang umisip. Lumilinang din sa mga pangunahing saloobin at mga pagpapahalagang tungo sa mabuting kaasalan.

Ang mga salaysay ay sinulat sa paraang kawiwilihan ng bata. Nagbibigay ang mga ito sa kanya ng mga karanasan at mga pagkakataong mag-isip, magpasya at matuto ng mabuting pakikitungo sa kapwa.
